Greetings All, Dragon's Den Publishing has an announcement. As of December 2014, our office's location will change from Gulfport, MS to San Diego, CA. I'm not sure if I have mentioned this in previous blog posts, but our CEO's husband is active duty military. His time in MS has come to an end. The business will still continue. The only thing that will change is the P.O. Box where submissions can be mailed. Since email submissions are also accepted, there will not be a disruption for those wishing to send in manuscripts. Once a new P.O. Box has been assigned, we will update the address listed on the company website. Also, be sure to check the facebook page for any other updates that may occur. One of the best things about today's modern w...

Also, writers and readers alike can check out her blog at or find her on Twitter @CeliaMai2.

Keep in mind, that Dragon's Den is still accepting manuscripts. Even though we are a new company and small, we maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to authors and artists.

The electronic age has really changed the world. There are things we use everyday that didn't even exist when I was growing up in the 90's. Like ereaders and ebooks.

As a publisher, I can see the benefits of electronic media. It is cheaper to produce and it's easier to make it widely accessible. However, it can also make being a book publisher more difficult. Authors no longer need publishers or literary agents to get their novels to the reading public. So often, we miss out on the chance to attach our label to something truly great. Then again, if i really is that amazing, why bother with a publisher, right?

Of course, the surge in published material due to the internet also makes it more difficult to get your work noticed. You could ha...

If you're not an anime fan, you probably won't get the inside joke behind the title. But, putting aside my own awkward sense of humor, I want you all to know that Dragon's Den Publishing is working hard.

I know we have fallen behind in our weekly book recommendations and Twitter updates. However, that is all because we are working hard to prepare Other Side of the Wormhole: Book 2 for production. We are also preparing to attend Book Expo America this May in NYC.

While we won't be setting up a booth for this year's trade show, my business partner and I will be in attendance. Also, anyone who does attend will find Other Side of the Wormhole: Book 1 displayed on the New Title Showcase. Be sure to check our Facebook for pictures from the tra...

We at Dragon's Den Publishing just wanted to give a brief recap of the books we suggest. Every Monday you can find our most recent book recommendation on our Facebook page with an explanation of why we chose it. Keep in mind we're open to suggestions if there is something you found that you want to share. Just contact us and we just might feature your suggestion on Facebook and Twitter.

This month's books are:
Magic Tree House #2 by Mary Pope Osborne
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
Texting the Underworld by Ellen Booraem
Martin the Warrior by Brian Jacques

While Dragon's Den Publishing is still in its infancy, we are making progress. Our newest baby step of getting in with a distributor has lead to a surprisingly positive twist. Other Side of the Wormhole isn't just available in America. No matter where you live (on planet Earth) you can find it. There are electronic editions available for the Kindle and Nook. You can even find it on Google Play and for the Kobo app. Sorry, we're still not in the ibooks store yet, but we're working on it.

If you're like me and you're can't seem to break away from print books, then Barnes and Noble can help you. You can also find it at our store on the marketplace. And of course, signed copies are available directly from the publisher. Signed cop...

Other Side of the Wormhole #1 print editions are now available via Barnes & Noble. For a small company like Dragon's Den, this is a major feather in our cap. This doesn't mean we're mainstream yet but it is a tiny step in that direction. This has been a slow process for us and we are so happy to be able to share this news with you. Stop by your local bookseller and ask about it or go to their online store and take advantage of the book's free shipping eligibility. Same day delivery to those of you in the Manhattan area. :) Happy Reading!!

Happy dance or should I say dragon dance...(bad joke, I know).
Planning a trip to NYC next spring? So are we. We'll be attending BEA 2014.
Other Side of the Wormhole, Book 1 will be displayed on the new title showcase and I'll be there as well.
The trade show dates are May 28 through June 1. We hope to see you there.

Being both author and publisher is a time consuming business. I still don't think I've mastered the art of time management between business manager and writer. I took a few months off from the business part of things to do a little research and write a few more chapters of my next book. But now that I'm back in the office, please let it be known that Dragon's Den Publishing always accepts unsolicited manuscripts. If you simply want a set of eyes to check your work out before you send it to a big company, we understand and we are always willing to offer our assistance. Critiques are free of charge, but with only one set of eyes, your patience needs to be in abundance.

Remember that book 1 of Other Side of the Wormhole series is available ...
